I thought other members would benefit from taking a look at the Perceptant website (http://www.perceptant.com).

We signed up with them a few months ago and have found their SaaS EDI offering to be reliable, scalable and cost effective.

It's very different from locally installed software though in so much as it's hosted, configured and supported on behalf of customers and they perform all mappings and translations (any to any) for a fixed fee.

We're now able to set-up new trading relationships within a matter of days and the folks there take care of all the heavy lifting. In addtion it'll run over VAN's, AS2, HTTPS, FTP etc with no traffic related charges (unlimited volumes) so we now know exactly what our monthly charges are.

They're certainly worth a look if you're considering a fully managed service and/or want a low cost entry point solution for your trading community.

Software/ "do it yourself" systems are not reliable a bunch of the time. Don't expect everything to roll smoothly as you will be stressing about details. We had many current clients who used to use these systems and had to make the switch to us at Roundhouse. We are a full service outsourcing EDI provider and we make sure that you are not stressed out during the days you ship. We charge transaction based so on the days that you dont do anything-- you wont incur a charge.
