Hello Guys
need your help again. how do I code this in gentran and where "If TD503 has a value of EXLA or UPGF then REF "SE" segment is not supposed to appear" Please help ------------------------------------ Yahoo! If you are talking Gentran 5.2 for Windows, I would use an extended rule with an if statement and make all the fields that might populate the REF segment empty so it would not write a segment out if TD503 has a value specified. Also, if you are using a standard rule with a constant for the SE qualifier, then make it conditional on the value in the REF*03, that way no REF segment should be created.
You can do the same thing in visual mapper if you are talking Gentran for UNIX 5.2 in the mapping instructions - set the values mapped to the REF03 to "" if the value in the TD503 field has the value specified. If there is no value in those fields then the segment will not be written out.
