We run both Gentran:Server for iSeries release 3.4 and G.I.S. version 4.2 Patch Level 13. We are in the process of completing our conversion from Server to G.I.S.
Will share what we can about our environment and experience. We run JD Edwards OneWorld as our ERP and make extensive use of JDBC maps to both extract and deposit data from/to interface tables. We also use a number of JAVA user exits to extract select pieces of data from that system during mapping - both inbound and outbound. Love the HTTPS/FTP ability of G.I.S. as well as the CLA2 service that lets you run scripts on Windows servers. Also love the way this performs on an iSeries - especially compared to Server. |

Would love to hear how it went for you. We are ALSO in Appleton and ALSO change from GENTRAN (iSeries) to GIS (4.3).
Our switch is about two weeks out. |

Changeover was gradual. We converted one trading partner at a time, since we had other projects ongoing. Primary thing to pay close attention to was performance tuning. We ran into some issues that we had to address as volume grew within G.I.S.
