Default Please help to choose carrier

Hi friends,

I am newly joined in a company as a EDI Support,in India.
I was working as a developer in a company.
Due to the economic slowdown I just shifted to this company and this domain (EDI) is very new to me. Before joining this company I even not heard this domain. Now the big question is, how will be my future in this platform?
Is this is a growing platform in India? If I continue in this company how will be my future? What are the different opportunities I will get in future?

Hi DeepakRaj

Dont worry !! This is a really good domain to work !! You will find EDI in each and every business domain like Retail, logistics, insurance, healthcare, banking etc.

It is having very good market in USA/UK.

Please feel free to contact me : jayesh.gala@tcs.com

Thanks and regards

Hi Jayesh Gala,

Your reply to this is Boosting me.
From the software development I moved to this domain.
I dont know which one is good, development or EDI.
So I am totally confused a lot. I have a big question whether this is giving a good future or not. Thanks for your reply. I have one more question, how this will be in India in future.

Hi Jayesh Gala,

I am so glad to get a reply from you. You reply is boosting me.
I worked in software development. Suddenly I moved to this domain.
So I had a big question abt my carrier. Even I tried to move again to the development. But before jumping I would like to know about this domain. EDI is having great future in India too?

Thanks in Advance

Is there an oligopoly of very large retailers who can (and want) to dictate the rules, such as in the US?
If not, EDI won't be pushed => it may have a limited development.

You asked: "EDI is having great future in India too?"

I don't know India and I can't predict the future, but my feeling is that EDI is stronger and more widely used in those countries where a relatively small number of very large retailers have enough power to set rules, mandate standards, and assess chargebacks to their suppliers.
