Hello,

Is anyone in the process of or has moved from Gentran to GIS on any platform?

We are on the 400, however I am just trying to gauge what a mess this migration will be and if anyone has some pointers.

Thanks

John,

I didnt perform the move, I had joined my company after the fact.  However, I just wanted to add that GIS (when it works right!) is 100 times better / intuitive then Gentran.  The business processes are great once you get a hang if it.

I am pretty sure you will have to redo ALL of your customers EDI Maps for the swap.

Good luck.

Hi,
I am new to this forum, however NOT new to EDI and GIS.  You can migrate maps from Gentran to GIS as they both use the same Sterling Integrator mapper.  Just ensure when saving the map first time that you select the correct VERSION in <edit> <details>.

I'm going to give it a try in a week, I am also going to the mapping class so I'll bring this question up.
