The irony of the article - and I was going to say the same thing over at the Inovis Blog, is that sometimes - some of us just want our phone to be ... a phone..! I'm not really wanting to surf the web, watch TV, listen to MP3s or whatever with My phone.... I've got a laptop, a plasma HDTV and an iPod to fulfill those needs.

While I understand that there are times a "smart phone" could be more useful - it's just not something that works right for Me. I don't need to be in constant contact with the outside world 24 hours a day, 7 days a week... there are times I just want to disconnect, turn off the phone, laptop, and tv and just veg out with a good book and some tunes....

But in the case of EDI - yes, we can do much more with the basic concepts and improve business funtionalities... but we must remember that not all of the rest of the world is in that same mindset and is quite happy with bysinc, dial-up level EDI of just a single document or two....
